Why is it so hard for us to get out of our heads? 

 

It is hard to get out of our heads when we don’t have an alternative. Being in your head and thinking about all the possible ways something can go can be crazy-making. We strategize and analyze because we can talk ourselves in complete circles without coming to a real solution when we are in our heads. 

 

I have clients all the time, say, “Oh, I’m so in my head about this” (actually, my clients know how to get out of their head, which I’m going to tell you), but from friends and colleagues or people that I know, I hear it a lot. 

 

I’m so in my head about this. 

 

That is the norm because that’s how we have been trained in our culture. Think about it, figure it out, and have a good reason for why you’re making a decision. We can get caught in this loop. We’re going to stay there unless we have an alternative. We will stay there unless we have another consistent, reliable way of making decisions that will allow us to be out of our heads and be in a receptive mode to something else.

 

If you’ve been following my channel or you know me, you probably know that “something else” is Source energy. 

Source energy – God’s Spirit, the universe, the collective consciousness, collective energy, the divine coming through you for your unique purpose here on Earth.

Source energy is available to us all the time. The issue is we often have defaults that block or deflect, and a lot of times, this pops into our heads. Our logical rationale, trying to figure things out, often conflicts with hearing what we know is coming straight from Source. 

 

You’re probably wondering – how do I hear from Source? I realize that simply telling you what it is isn’t all that helpful. This is why I developed the Sourced Magic Quiz. I created this quiz specifically for transformational entrepreneurs, people who deliver services and transformation with it, to help understand the information they’re receiving. That can help them move their clients along and get them to the truth faster. 

 

It is a good tool for anyone to explore how their intuition or inner-knowing works. In other words, how Source (which wants the greatest and highest good for you) is available to guide you at all times. 

 

Let’s explore how this can work. 

I created the sourced Magic quiz specifically for transformational entrepreneurs, people who deliver services and transformation with it, to help understand the information they’re receiving.

The first is Sensation Magic. If you are a Sensation Magician, your inner-knowing comes through physical sensations in your body. For Sensation Magicians, being in your head is particularly dangerous because you’re not generally aware of what you’re feeling in your body when you’re in your head. 

 

This magic is one of my most potent gifts. It’s also one I was oblivious to for such a long time. I didn’t even realize I had it because I had left my body as a survival mechanism when I was younger. My head was my friend. I’m a chemical engineer, and I got a lot of kudos for being smart. 

 

My body was pretty much irrelevant. It was like this thing to take to the gym, and that was about it. Learning my intuition speaks to me through my body, symptoms, twitches, or noticing energy stuck in a certain place was epic. I can even sense when people I’m interacting with are feeling stuck or have stuck energy. And I know that I know that I know. So now, as I make decisions, I can tune in to what my body has to say about it. I have a whole dictionary of signals from my body and what they mean. I was completely cut off from knowing I had that magic for ages. 

 

If you’re a Sensation Magician, and your body knows, you can start to trust that your body will give you everything you need to know to make a decision.

Source (which wants the greatest and highest good for you) is available to guide you at all times. 

The second type of magic is Vibration magic. A Vibration Magician feels the energy of something. They might feel it in their physical body, it could be a neighbor to sensation, or they might hear it. They hear the vibration of the words or the tone of voice someone’s using. Some people can see energy. A Vibration Magician is very aware of the energy patterns of something. If you’re a Vibration Magician, you pick up on invisible information, but you may dismiss it when you are in your head. 

 

Alternatively, you can empower and trust your energy or what it is that you’re aware of about another person’s vibration, or the vibration of a situation, or a conversation, etc. When you get out of your head and into the vibration of the matter, you can trust that for a Vibration Magician; the vibration doesn’t lie. Sometimes, logic can confuse you, and you may ignore what you intuitively know vibrationally about something. 

 

The third type is Compassion Magic. Compassion Magic has to do with your heart, love, nurturing, and caring energy. A Compassion Magician also has very fierce boundaries. So what gets in gets loved up. 

 

For Compassion Magicians, you want to get out of your head and into your heart. You want to look for where the love is. Who’s able to receive this love? If there’s a decision you’re making or a situation you are looking at, ask yourself, where is my heart pulled? You might also think I have so much love and compassion. I am just a love bug. Where is the place where my love is most able to be received? That’s the place I’m going to lean in. 

Source energy is available to us all the time.

The fourth type of magic is Recognition magic. Recognition magic is seeing the patterns. A Recognition Magician can hear something over here and see something over there, and they can put the pieces together and know exactly what’s going on, even though no one explained it to them. You can see how these things that seem disparate connect.

A Recognition Magician may also see signs, something may happen, and they get a “click” of that is important, that matters. They tend to see trends and be aware of things in the future that many people are not yet aware of. 

 

You’re thinking about the things, but it’s knowing. You know all of these senses are working together so quickly that it’s not a logical thought. 

 

What sometimes happens for Recognition Magicians is they can try to back it up with logic or explain themselves when really, they simply know. If you’re a Recognition Magician, it’s okay to explain, but first anchor the knowing. Please write it down and get clear about what you know to be true. Understand that you’re probably years ahead of where most people are, so don’t expect everybody to get it. Be comfortable deciding according to what’s true for you, even if people don’t get it.

The fifth magic is Expansion magic. The Expansion Magician can see what’s possible. They come from the firm belief that the universe is abundant, and Mother Earth has more than enough, and if we operate as if that’s true, things will work themselves out. 

 

The opposite of an Expansion Magician is someone who lives in fear of scarcity, trying to hoard resources, etc. As Expansion Magicians, we get in our head because we’re analyzing how will I survive this? What’s the best path that’s going to give me the most stuff? That might seem like abundance, but it’s scarcity. If you’re in true abundance, you’re not analyzing any of that. You’re saying, what feels expansive here? What feels abundant to me? Where do I sense that the energy can flow in the most abundance? Then move in that direction. 

 

The final one is Expression magic. Expression magic is channeling source energy through you. If you are an Expression Magician, and you find yourself in your head, trying to figure it out, how do you get out of your way and allow truth to come through? 

 

Often, an Expression Magician needs to speak to someone and allow it to flow until it comes through. Then it’s like, oh, that’s the truth. So you might need to have a partner to process with, or obviously, I recommend having a coach so that you can hear when the truth comes through. 

 

Expression Magicians can often express themselves in various ways. So it could be through writing or music or art in some way. Perhaps you create a piece of art that helps you know the answer. When you get out of your head and onto a canvas, or out in nature, or in some way, you allow the energy to flow. 

ask yourself, how does my inner knowing work? How does my magic work? How can I lean in more in such a way that my head’s not needing to take over because I’m in total trust of Source working through me?

If you take anything away from this conversation, don’t say, “I have to get out of my head, I’m in my head so much.” That doesn’t work. That’s shaming yourself and how you’re programmed. Instead, ask yourself, how does my inner knowing work? How does my magic work? How can I lean in more in such a way that my head’s not needing to take over because I’m in total trust of Source working through me?

Don’t Let Them Scare You with Logic

Before I scare you away with this title, I want to establish that I am a “recovering engineer.” My first degree and career was as a chemical engineer. I worked in a Fortune 20 company and had an amazing time at the start of my career. 

 

And here I am now with a video called “Don’t Let Them Scare You with Logic.” 

 

First of all, I’m so grateful for my upbringing as an engineer, my schooling, my initial career, and the training I received. I learned to think logically and problem solve. Creating strategy was the most important skill that I learned and supports me in my business today. 

 

On the flip side, many of my intuitive abilities supported me as an engineer, believe it or not. There were ways where I would intuitively know how the pieces fit together, and then I could set up a test to prove it. 

 

The reason I’m sharing this with you is that I often see that people that don’t have the background I do, and who are transformational leaders, coaches, consultants, healers, or creatives of some sort, get intimidated or insecure when someone brings numbers and logic into a conversation. 

On the flip side, many of my intuitive abilities supported me as an engineer, believe it or not. There were ways where I would intuitively know how the pieces fit together.

But here’s the deal. It is possible to create a logical argument for something supported by data that isn’t true, right, or accurate. 

 

I saw this all the time inside my work as an engineer, where someone would run an experiment, but before running the experiment, the question was, what do we want this data to prove? Then they would design the experiment to prove what they wanted to prove because they were already attached to a certain outcome, and they wanted the data to support it. 

 

This happens all the time, all over the place.

 

From a transformational standpoint, we know that when we look for something, we’re likely to find it. When we expect our business to thrive, it’s likely to thrive. Similarly, when someone would like to prove something is a certain way, they’re going to find the logic, or the data, to prove that case.

Let’s get practical.

 

Have you ever been in an argument with a loved one, where all of a sudden you find yourself vehemently arguing for something that you don’t care about at all? 

 

This type of argument is what happens when logic is running the show. We might think “if this, then that,” on and on, and pretty soon, we’re effectively arguing for something that’s not true for us or that we don’t care about.

you go out in the world and start interacting with people and sharing your vision. And all of a sudden, people start giving you logical reasons why that won’t work. 

Let’s take an example of where this might show up in your business. 

 

Let’s say you have spent time and energy honing your Sourced connection. You understand how your inner-knowing works. You’ve spent time sitting with your soul, asking your soul the questions that you want to know the answer for your unique path, what you’re here to do, as a unique, highly divine intuitive being. 

 

You’ve concluded what you’d like to express in the world based on what’s coming to you, what lights you up, and what would be possible. 

 

Then you go out in the world and start interacting with people and sharing your vision. And all of a sudden, people start giving you logical reasons why that won’t work. 

Being receptive is a huge part of being Sourced.

You don’t want to be unreceptive. Being receptive is a huge part of being Sourced. You want to be willing to receive the feedback without shutting it out. There may be a nugget in what they’re sharing that is exactly what you needed to hear. Source may be trying to get you a piece of information. 

 

What you don’t want to do is assume that they’re right and defer to their knowing over your Sourced knowing. Right. Don’t let them scare you with their logic.

 

Logically, what they are sharing with you might make perfect sense to you. Yes, it’s logical, but it’s not Sourced. 

 

Maybe that information and that logic help and support your case. Maybe it gives you something that’s going to turn you three degrees and will make all the difference. So allow it.

 

But you don’t have to take it on like it’s true. Being receptive does not mean we keep it. We can be receptive and let it flow right on by, saying thank you for sharing. 

Your knowing, believing yourself, and believing your truth increases your ability to receive from Source in all manner of ways. If someone else’s logic or rationality is going to sway you off of your Sourced path, you won’t be able to access your right next step.

Don’t let them scare you with their logic.

Allow this to sink in. When someone’s logic comes in and pops you out of your Sourced knowing and up into your head, and gets you a little bit confused and off track, soon you’ll be agreeing with them, even though what they’re saying isn’t aligned with your truth. 

 

This can happen so easily.

 

In summary, people can prove whatever case they want. Simply because it’s logically sound, doesn’t make it true. Trust your Sourced knowing over the input of others. Be willing to receive it, keep what feels right, and let the rest flow on through!

What level of structure do you need to feel secure in your business? I love nothing more than supporting transformational leaders and service-based entrepreneurs to bring structure to the way they work in their business. 

 

Having a structure that supports how you hold your work and your clients in that work allows you to relax and sink into the work while showing up more powerfully and potently. 

 

Each of us has a different degree of structure that we need to feel comfortable, confident, and secure in putting our work out there and moving forward. The issue is that we’re often not aware of how much structure we need or don’t need. 

Have a structure that supports how you hold your work and your clients in a way that allows you to relax and sink into the work while showing up more powerfully and potently.

I think about my client, Helen, who came to one of my retreats on learning to host retreats because she wanted to have all of her content planned out before even marketing the event. She was feeling nervous about whether it would deliver the transformation she wanted. Would she know what to do and what to say to make this happen? 

 

Helen came to retreat to get the clarity she needed and what she discovered was that the level of structure that she kept trying to create made her feel suffocated, and it didn’t bring out her best self. 

 

Some part of her from the past (hearing other people teach, watching what other people were doing) said, in order for what I’m offering to be real, she needed PowerPoints, workbooks, exercises, and agendas. What she discovered is that’s not how she is built to operate. 

 

Even though we did give her some structure, setting her intentions for each day of her retreat and what the transformation would be for the client from Day One to Day Two, Day Two to Day Three, we didn’t plan everything out in the way that she had thought that she would. In fact, we ceremoniously declared that that was NOT what she was going to do because that does not make her, her best self. 

we began talking about structure and how it supports you being in flow within your business, and one of the women started to panic.

How much structure do you need? Most people are confused about the amount of structure that will make them feel secure. They actually set themselves up to stop themselves from moving forward because of whatever their belief is about structure.

 

On the other side, in a recent small retreat that I hosted, we began talking about structure and how it supports you being in flow within your business, and one of the women started to panic. To her, the idea of structure meant no freedom. It meant she was going to be limited by these structures. 

 

By the end of the retreat, what she discovered was that limiting herself would bring her more freedom. Limiting her market would allow her to charge more, which would bring more abundance into her business, which would allow her more freedom of expression to travel and do all the things she wanted to do. It made it easier for her to be creative within the boundaries. 

 

A study shows that when kids are in a yard with a fence, they will explore the entire yard. When they’re in a yard with no fence, they stay right by the door. The structure creates more freedom to play and explore.

What do we do when we don’t know how much structure we need? 

 

If you are thinking in your head, I need to plan everything. ONCE I get this developed, and that developed, jump over this hurdle, launch my group program, and figure this thing out, and everything keeps moving, chances are you don’t need all that. The choice to move forward with less structure will make you come alive. 

 

On the other hand, if you’re someone who is not wanting any structure, and you keep pushing yourself forward do the thing; no structure, fly by the seat of your pants; I’m in total freedom; I’m going to do a different program every week; I’m going to have a different audience every week and do something different; that’s going to be limiting to you, and you’re probably looking for some solid structure and support. 

 

If either of these are you or you don’t know I have a few recommendations.

  1. Start to question your assumptions about the amount of structure you need.
  2. Understand that knowing how much structure you need will not come from your brain. It’s going to come from Source, or your inner-knowing.

We are taking this decision out of our head analysis because the head will crucify us either way. It’s going to judge and say, oh, gosh, why do you need all this? You should move forward. But when you bring it into your magicwhat does your vibration say? Where does your vibration feel best? What level of structure makes you feel best vibrationally? What levels of structure make you feel best in your body? What level of structure lights your heart up because you get to be free to love and support your clients without letting in too much junk? 

 

What level of structure allows your channeling to reach the right audience? What level of structure will enable you to ideate and brainstorm for people who will take it and run with it?

Your Business Model and Your Magic are Not Separate

Your Business Model & Your Magic are Not Separate

As a service-based entrepreneur who does your work in a transformational way, your clients come to you, and when they leave, they probably look different, their energy is different,  and the quality of their results is totally transformed. 

 

You want to have the most effective business possible to work in the lightest way possible while your clients get the deepest results. Does that sound about right?

 

Your business model is the series of decisions you make about how you offer your services, how you show up when you show up, and where you show up. This model also includes any marketing strategy you choose to bring people into your offer and how you convert or move those who resonate with you into the next step. Then finally, the way you offer and deliver that transformational work.

 

Some questions to answer are how long a container will this be, how many sessions, what type of sessions, what gets done, what doesn’t get done? All of those choices you make will create a business model in which you get to work and bring the magic.

The Magic Side

What do I mean by magic? Do you know what your magic is? 

There are six types of Sourced magics, and I have a quiz that can help you determine what kind you have. Your Sourced magic is how your inner knowing works to deliver transformation within your clients. 

 

Sourced is the spirit, or God, or the universe, or however you think about a higher power working through you in a particular way. This unique gift (different for everyone) helps create an outcome with your clients that only you can deliver, and it’s coming through intuitively.

 

There are things about your clients that you know, you sense or pick up on, you hear when they say a word that sounds off from who you know them to be, or you get an intuitive message that you know is for them, even if you don’t know what it means. Maybe you feel what they’re feeling in their body that they don’t even know to articulate, as a few examples.

There may also be one or multiple modalities you have been trained in. When all that comes together through you, the way you show up to work is different than anybody else. Many people can teach you to hone your intuition. 

The Business Side

Many people can teach you about business and your business model. How you can package X number of sessions for Y amount of dollars and make this much money, or how to use this particular marketing strategy as the foundation of your business model, for example.

Your Sourced magic is how your inner knowing works to deliver transformation within your clients. 

Need for Integration

Yet, these two components are generally kept separate. I suggest that these aren’t separate because the way your magic works needs integration into the choices you make for your business model. 

 

The way your magic works will draw in the people who want to work with you because of the unique way your gifts come together. Then within your business model, you want your magic to support how you show up fully in your work with clients. 

 

These should not be created separately or in a vacuum. At Sourced, our commitment is that we bring those together. By integrating your magic and business model, you get to use your gifts on full blast within your business model in its full potency because you’re not trying to be like anybody else.

 

We help service-based entrepreneurs market, sell, and deliver transformation because they’re not separate. When we try to develop them separately, we fuel our business rather than our business fueling us. 

The way your magic works will draw in the people who want to work with you because of the unique way your gifts come together. Then within your business model, you want your magic to support how you show up fully in your work with clients. 

Example One – The Expression Magician

Let me give you an example. Say you are taking a free webinar on how to give a speech. Speaking is part of what you do because you love being in front of the room, and the words come easily. It’s your gift. It’s your magic. 

 

On the webinar, they’re teaching you that you have to plan out every word of your talk to be a good speaker. They teach you to give a perfectly honed speech to the tee. They get so detailed – right down to when I say this phrase, I walk to the left, after that  I say this, I take a drink of water, then I put it back down. 

 

Let’s say this person is super successful, doing it that way. Now all of a sudden, you say yes, I want to learn from you, I’m going to take your training, I’m going to take your course, I’m going to join your mastermind!

 

You find yourself going down this path of being a perfect speaker who does the same talk every time. There’s nothing wrong with that works for you. But now, let’s say you’re what I call an Expression Magician. The Expression Magician gets in front of the group and feels or intuits the energy source that works through them; this is not logical, and they know the exact message that that room needs to hear comes through.

 

Imagine being an Expression Magician who is not designed to do it the same every time. Now you’re trying to fit yourself into this business model over and over and over again. It doesn’t work, and neither your magic nor business model should be developed in a vacuum.

Example Two – The Compassion Magician

Let’s say you find yourself again, scrolling the internet, and someone has great marketing about having a membership site. They have 1000s of clients, and their membership program is $47 per month, and you too can do the same. Let me teach you. Take this class. 

 

Let’s say you’re a Compassion Magician. A Compassion Magician is someone who heals with their heart, presence, non-judgment, and firm boundaries to create a safe space for someone to go through a transformational process. They make a space for them to break down like the caterpillar and become a butterfly. This is an intimate process that is best done in intimate groups or individually. 

 

If you end up down a track of a giant membership site as the vision, but your magic is being excellent with small groups of people, then you’re doing yourself a disservice by doing a membership model.

Are you feeling me? Understanding who you are, how you work best, who you serve, and how you show up in your magic and then design your business model to match that.

 

Conversations like this are a big piece of what happens at our event, Shift the Field Live. We structure a conversation to help people understand how transformation works and how their magic plays out within that process, especially for coaches and healers, creatives, or consultants. 

 

Then we layer how to design your business so that you’re in your magic, and transformation happens for your clients every time. Depending on the type of magic, you might be designing for hundreds and hundreds of people to take your program, or six. We need to know that. That’s some of the work we’ll be doing at Shift the Field Live. 

Understand who you are, how you work best, who you serve, and how you show up in your magic and then design your business model to match that.
