What’s Blocking Your Inner Power and How to Let Your Light Be Seen
By Darla LeDoux, Founder of Sourced™ and Author of the books Shift The Field and Retreat and Grow Rich
When did you start turning down the parts of you that actually reflect your inner power?
Most of us learn to do it without noticing. Maybe your intuition felt “odd” to people around you. Maybe your confidence or sensitivity didn’t land well in certain rooms. So you adjusted. You blended in. You hid the very thing that made you powerful.
But hiding your light doesn’t protect you — it limits your impact, your inner power, and the income you’re capable of earning.
In the season finale of Activating Magic, I break down the four unconscious ways people hide the brilliance and inner power they were born with. Tune in to hear how each of the six magic types creates real value, and why reclaiming your inner power is one of the smartest business moves you can make.
Here’s a taste of what you’ll learn:
- Why hiding your unique gifts might be the reason you’re working harder than necessary.
- The connection between childhood survival patterns and your current business struggles.
- How to recognize if you’re hiding your most profitable abilities from clients.
- What happened when Darla broke the “good person” money rules her family taught her.
- The four ways lightworkers unconsciously dim their presence to stay safe.
- Why being fully received in the community still requires one critical internal practice first.
- The biggest benefit of working with a “light touch.”

Transformation IS the product
You Were Born Light
Many of us arrived in this world with a natural brightness — an inner power — that did not match the environments we grew up in. If your home felt chaotic, heavy, or emotionally unavailable, you likely learned to stay small in order to feel safe. This instinct to dim yourself is what I call cloaking. It protected you then, but now it limits your ability to express your full gifts and access your inner power. Your light is still there. Your inner power has only been covered.
The Six Types of Magic
Your magic is the way source energy moves through you. Understanding your type helps you see how your light naturally works.
- Recognition Magic
You see patterns and connections that other people overlook. You reveal what is hidden and help people understand how their past and future fit together. - Expansion Magic
You sense the path that leads to greater possibility and abundance. You show the way into what feels open and alive. - Sensation Magic
Your body feels energy. You know where flow is blocked or open even when nothing is spoken. - Expression Magic
Your words, voice, creativity, and movement carry transformation. People shift simply by experiencing your expression. - Compassion Magic
You create a space of unconditional love. People feel safe revealing their full story with you. - Vibration Magic
You perceive frequency. You can feel when someone is aligned with truth or when something is off.
The Four Cloaks That Hide Your Inner Power
To uncloak, you must understand what has been covering your magic.
Love Patterns
You learned to earn love through proving, saving, protecting, or prioritizing connection above truth. These patterns keep you from expressing your real self.
Gender Conditioning
You received early messages about what qualities were acceptable based on the body you were born in. This conditioning caused you to hide parts of your authentic expression.
The Good Person Paradigm
You were taught that good people do not want too much, charge too much, or put themselves first. These rules keep you small and underpaid.
The Safety Illusion
You look for safety outside yourself and shape your life to avoid discomfort. This creates contraction and keeps you from following what your soul wants.
Working with a Light Touch
When your inner power is cloaked, everything requires effort. You work harder and push more just to feel a small result. When you uncloak, your presence becomes potent. Energy moves quickly around you. You no longer need to exhaust yourself in order to serve.
Each time you choose to show up fully as yourself and nothing bad happens, your system learns that it is safe to shine. Your confidence grows from evidence, not from force.
Nurturing Your Own Seed
Inside you is a small seed that represents your true nature. It is your responsibility to water it. For too long you have waited for other people to recognize your light. When they do not see it, you feel rejected. They can only meet you from their own perspective.
Community is important, but you can still hide inside it. When you seek validation, every interaction becomes a test. When you seek truth, every interaction becomes information that helps you see yourself more clearly.
The moments when people do not understand you are often the most valuable. They strengthen your ability to honor yourself without needing outside approval.
Making Your Light Your Moneymaker
Your light is the most valuable thing you bring to the world. When you uncloak, people feel the transformation you create. They invest not only in your skills but in the energy and clarity that come through you.
This does not require abandoning practical skills. It requires allowing your magic to lead them. When you let people know who you really are, the right clients and opportunities find you with ease.
You came into this life to learn how to trust your light in the presence of contrast. You are here to guide others toward their own brightness. This is not a burden. It is an invitation to live authentically and joyfully.
Your light becomes your moneymaker when you stop hiding it. When you shine without apology, everything shifts. Your impact deepens. Your work becomes easier. And you finally experience what it feels like to be fully received.
Prioritizing Rest and Nervous System Care
Rest is not a nice-to-have: it’s essential. Taking care of yourself creates the foundation for sustainable success. Whether it’s scheduling quiet moments, connecting with supportive people, or building rituals that bring calm, these practices help you recharge and stay connected to your inner self. Remember, rest isn’t something you have to earn; it’s part of living well. So, always make time for rest.
Using Visioning as a Tool for Growth
Visioning goes beyond goal-setting. It’s a way to tap into what really matters to you on a deeper level. Whether it’s through journaling, creating a vision board, or another creative process, this practice can be a source of clarity and hope—especially during challenging seasons. By envisioning what you want, you give yourself direction and momentum.
Honoring Your Unique Creative Flow
There’s no single “right” way to approach creativity or productivity. Some people thrive by diving deep into immersive work, while others shine through steady, daily practices. The key is finding what works best for you, rather than forcing yourself to fit into someone else’s mold. When you honor your natural rhythm, creativity flows more freely.
Stepping away from hustle culture is about embracing your authentic self. It’s about living intentionally, trusting your intuition, and creating work that feels meaningful to you. Your worth isn’t tied to how much you produce or earn—it’s reflected in the joy, passion, and authenticity you bring to your life and work.
